Bidding has just begun for the July 2016 Boatbid!
Another thing we are committed to at Boatshed is reducing the costs of boat ownership for our customers. Boat buyers will, typically, spend about 20% of the price of a boat on necessary equipment, products and services within the first 12 months of ownership. This expenditure can be considerable and is often overlooked by other brokers. Our Preferred Partners Scheme is aimed at reducing this expenditure and thereby the overall cost of boat ownership for Boatshed customers.
The next BoatBid Boat Auction is on 15 - 19 July 2016. This time there's specialist categories for various types of boats including Narrowboats, Barges, sail, Power and Commercial Boats and many more.
Here are a handful of what our customers think of buying or selling a boat through Boatshed...
We want our customers to feel valued, informed and, well…… loved. Instead of us keeping all the useful information about boat sales to ourselves, we have developed some tools to allow our customers to keep themselves informed whilst selling a boat and when looking for a new boat.
The Boatshed HQ Support team has plenty of experience within the brokerage and marine industry and is able to provide constant support to all Boatshed Brokers.
Last year Edward Kay joined the Boatshed Team, setting up Boatshed Riviera in the South of France as a new franchisee broker. A second broker, Solenne Vaudin d’Imecourt, now assists him. Edward has had a lifetime love affair with boating and the South of France, owning a classic power boat himself, and Boatshed Riviera is fast becoming a go-to brokerage for, in particular, large, luxury power boats.

This was the first real spring weather weekend with blue skies, sunshine and a chilly north-easterly wind. Perfect weather for the Rib and Motorboat show held at Premier Marinas, Gosport.
BoatBid enables the boat buyer to bid with the confidence that any boat can be surveyed and sea trialed before you make the decision to purchase. The transaction is handled by one of Boatshed's brokers.
I have just listed a Beneteau Oceanis 361 Clipper for sale, it was the first one I had been aboard and I wasn’t too excited about having a 36 foot yacht to offer in a region where 40 foot seems the norm. However, this compact cruiser has left me suitably impressed at how a well-designed boat can give the feeling of being much larger than it actually is.

We are delighted to announce our new relationship with BWML. BWML is part of the UK’s Canal & River Trust (formally, British Waterways) a national charity whose primary role is the custodian and navigation authority for around 2,000 miles of canals and rivers across England and Wales. Boatshed is now the exclusive external broker in most of BWML’s 20 locations, available to assist our customers with the sale and purchase of Narrowboats and other inland waterway vessels. Our brokers in these locations are experts in these specialist craft and familiar with the unique pleasures of inland boating.
